Expoting Distribution Lists from Outlook 2000

Can you please provide the process for exporting contacts that belong on a Outlook distribution list.

I can not find any such functionality in the Import/Export tool.

Are you just wanting to export contacts?  If so - Can you go to File - Import/Export - and the choose Export to a file - Choose what type of file you wish to use & then in the next window, choose Contacts.

I have already seen this page. My goal is to get the contacts on one of my distribution lists into a excel document. The process on the above link just moves contacts/distribution lists from one outlook to another.

OK - I was just trying to make sure I understood.  When you choose to export a file - on the next window, you get to choose the type of file, choose Coma Separated Value (Windows) - that will allow you to open this file in Excel.

To clarify i need to export just the contacts that exist on one of my distribution lists. NOT my entire contact list.

Per the site:  Export the detailed information that the DL represents, and then re-create the DL on the target computer.   You would need to pretty much re-create it.  It does not allow for just a single contact to be exported.

thanks for your help but there must be away to get these contacts into an excel spreadsheet. MOving from one outlook to another outlook is not what i am after.

Well you can export your entire contact list into an excel sheet & then shoose the ones that are already on that DL to use in any way that you wish.

The easy way to do it:

Open Contacts and double-click the distribution list to open it.
On the File menu, choose Save As...
Save the file in Text Only format.
Open the file in Excel using Delimited data format, using Tab (and possibly Space depending on how you want it arranged) as the delimiter(s).
