Send from alternate e-mail address using Outlook 2000 connected to Exchange 2000 server

I have a customer who has bought multiple domains (mail for all of which are collected by the same server) and wants to be able to send from one of the other e-mail addresses defined under the users e-mail addresses properties in Active Directory Users and Computers.

i.e. me@abc.co.uk (currently set as Primary Address and always used when sending)
me@123.co.uk (receives e-mail for this address but wants to be able to send from it)

The customer is using Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2000

Is there an easy way to do this or some kind of add in or tool I can use to allow him to do this easily?

TIA

You can try setting up seperate outlook profiles for each account, and when the user logs in they will be prompted which profile to use.  When the user selects the alternate profile, they can send from that address.

Works if they close Outlook when they want to send from another account but the problem is that they tend to open it up first thing in the morning (many of the users there have Outlook set to open via a startup shortcut) and leave it open all day.

I've used a workaround of creating a new user for each mail address and using forwarding and send on behalf of permissions but it just looks messy and I can't help feeling there's a better way to do it...thanks anyway

Create as many users he has domains (you already did)
Each user has the corect email address to be used when sending
Give full access to one of 'main' user to other mailboxes
Configure Outlook to open
1) Main user mailbox
2) Other mailboxes
(Tools/Email account/Add modify and add the mailboxes form the global address list)
When replyiing form his own mailbox, From field will show me@abc.co.uk
from other mailboxes, From field will show the default email address you set up in AD

Your solution was close but no forwrding, no send on behalf to configure
