In office 2003, the collapsed view of contacts categories is much too large for easy scrolling, compared to outlook 2000. Is there any way to get more contact categories on screen . I would like to scale down the mail and contacts buttons in the inbox view as well. In general, I'm looking for a simpler and larger readable screen.

Outlook 2K3 is very good about customization, many of the windows can be altered by grabbing the sides or top and bottm and adjusting the size. For example, I tend to drop the filder icons all the way to the bottom so that they are just icons and not full lines taking up space on the left navigation pane. Also, in you contact categories, if there are too many to view, use a filter by customizing the current view...

Going with a larger screen resolution is a good way to get more screen real estate.
You could also shorten some columns and expand others. You can also drag columns around so the leftmost columns are the main information you want to see.
