The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Migrating from Outlook 98 to Outlook 2003 on new PC

Asked by wayneskid in Outlook Groupware Software

Tags: outlook, 2003, new, pc, from

I'm moving to a new PC and want to move all my Outlook items (mail messages,
contacts, calendar entries, PAB entries, tasks, notes, etc.) to the new system.
BTW - I gather I won't be able to import my mail account settings; it that correct?

Here's the picture:
OLD PC - 6 year old Dell P2 450 MHz running Win98 SE and OL 98
NEW PC - Just out of the box Dell Dimension 8400 P4 3.2 GHz running WinXP Pro
SE and Office 2003 with OL 2003.

No doubt lots of folks have done this before so I'm hoping someone will be able
to offer a bullet proof step-by-step guide on how to accomplish this without
breaking something. The old PC has some rather annoying idiosyncracies (pauses,
hangs, etc) and while I have no reason to think they are related to OL, I'm not
positive they are not related.  I plan to run a virus scan on whatever files I
move to the new system.  Is there any thing else I should do to avoid problems?

This is a simple setup.  Right now the old PC and the new one are on a P to P
LAN.  The old system will be sent to its final resting place once everything
is moved over.

TIA
