The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Why can I often send e-mails via IncrediMail only by using "forward" facility?

Asked by delthebuilder in Outlook Groupware Software

Tags: incredimail, avg

I have Windows XP home edition with OE6. I use IncrediMail to send and receive mails. 70% of my mails are returned immediately with the message "This is the AVG E-mail Scanner program. Your mail could not be sent. Authentication required. To fix this you need to make a simple change known as SMTP authentication.........." When I get this message I go to sent items and resend the mail using "forward", this sends it without returning. I have asked IncrediMail for help twice in the past six weeks but have not been graced with a reply, and YES - my server HAS been authenticated. I have been going round and round with BT Yahoo, who are about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike! I have turned off AVG, I have turned off my firewall - neither make any difference. This problem does not occur if I use Outlook Express itself to send with. I haven't made any changes or stuck sharp objects in the back of the tower. Can anyone cure this problem? As I stated in my last (unrelated problem, I am computer illiterate and will have to be told which buttons to push all the way through! Want to take this on for 500 points? Thanks guys (and girls).
Del.
PS. The question is easy - it's the ANSWER that's difficult!
