Contacts not showing as an Outlook Address Book

My contacts are not showing as an Outlook Address Book. When I go into Contacts Properties, it does not allow me to tick the box next to "Show this folder as an Outlook Address Book".

You need to set up an "outlook address book"

Here are the steps:

Tools/options/mail setup tab
Email accounts
add new directory or address book
additonal address book
outlook address book

exit outlook and go back in

right click/properties on contacts
outlook address book tab
check "show this folder..."

Job done

Thanks for your reply. I went through the following steps:

Tools/options/mail setup tab
Email accounts
add new directory or address book
additonal address book
outlook address book

...and then got an error message saying "This account or directory type already exists and cannot be specified twice"
I closed and re-opened Outlook and retried, but ran into the same problem

Any ideas?

Doh! Removed the address book from outlook, then retried - still same error message.

Can additional address books be used with Ms Exchange?

AdrieusKeun's solution is correct. Once you close and re-open Outlook, it will take a few seconds for the user's contacts to show up in the Address Book.

Hi - Unfortunately this falls at the first hurdle for me as i'm on Outlook 2010 and none of the menus you list are now available so it falls at Step 1 - Goto Tools/options/mail setup tab

Please can you supply instructions for Outlook 2010, Windows 7 Home Premium.
