Unable to open your default e-mail folders.
Recently we have been getting the following error when we try to create a new profile on Outlook:
"Unable to open your default email folders. You must connect to your microsoft Exchange Server computer with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file."
The users have been around a long time, and and currently working on their old computer, but when we try to setup a new computer and create their email profile, we get this error.
We are on Exchange 2003 using Outlook 2003. Any ideas.
Thanks,
Jo

Creating a new profile should work, as fixati0n mentioned. I would create a new one tho ... with a new name ... so you don't pick up residue from the old profile. Depending which version of outlook you are using will determine where the profile is saved. Outlook 2003 saves the settings in the registry. Even if you delete the old profile, files or registry keys that built that profile are not always deleted.
Check dns to make sure you can resolve to the name of the server. When configuring the outlook profile, try entering the fully qualified domain name with the server name.
