The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Outlook rules not working properly

Asked by sudama in Outlook Groupware Software, Exchange Email Server

Tags: ,

I have several server-side rules on our Exchange server that appear not to be working properly.  Here is a simple example to illustrate what I'm talking about.

Rule #1
Apply this rule after the message arrives
with Cron in the subject
move it to the Cron folder

Then at the very end of my rules list I have this one:
Rule #2
Apply this rule after the message arrives
with root in the sender's address
move it to the r00t folder

What happens is, some of my "Cron" mail is moved into the r00t folder.  There does not appear to be any rhyme or reason to it, because some of the mail with Cron in the subject does get filtered properly.

I thought these rules were supposed to be applied in the order shown?  There are other examples, the end result being that mail I wanted to filter is getting thrown into the wrong folder, the whole thing is a freaking mess.

I hate Outlook and Exchange, but it's what our company uses and I have to live with it.  Can someone help me?  If I can fix these rules at least I can use IMAP and a decent mail client to read my mail.  And no, I don't want to filter the mail on my client because I have to be able to access the server from multiple clients/locations.Start Free Trial
