Hi,
on a user's home pc, they get repeated warnings that their mailbox is over its size limit. But, they have a POP3 account with a broadband ISP, and are not on a domain. So, why should these come up?
The error is:
From: System Administrator [mailto:postmaster@he.loca
l]
Sent: 04 March 2008 01:23
To: <their user name>
Subject: Your mailbox is over its size limit
Importance: High
Your mailbox has exceeded one or more size limits set by your administrator.
Your mailbox size is 41030 KB.
Mailbox size limits:
You will receive a warning when your mailbox reaches 40000 KB.You may not be able to send or receive new mail until you reduce your mailbox size.
To make more space available, delete any items that you are no longer using or move them to your personal folder file (.pst).
Items in all of your mailbox folders including the Deleted Items and Sent Items folders count against your size limit.
You must empty the Deleted Items folder after deleting items or the space will not be freed.
See client Help for more information.
- note, the System Administrator address above - postmaster@he.local - is not a valid address.
Also, the limit shown is 40mb - very low. The ISP swears blind that it does not set limits on these kind of accounts. I'll try and check whether there are any options set in error to Keep A Copy of the Email On The Server....
They're running Outlook 2008, but also had this when using Outlook 2003 too.
I've suggested a rule to delete the warnings on sight, but it would be nicer to fix than workaround....
cheers, Danny
