The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Outlook Email - server problems - or ourlook - keeps redownloading same emails.

Asked by afflik1923 in Outlook Groupware Software, Email Anti-Virus

OK, Company with three PC's using OUtlook 2003 collecting email from the (Fasthosts provded) server via POP3.

They have Outlook set up to retain on the server email for the last 20ish days so that they can download email in multiple locations (under the advnace settings of the account setup).

The problem is that they have started to intermitently download all the emails that are still on the server into the inbox again. So basically it is like the Outlook account has just been set up for the first time again and all the emails on the server come in again.

This has been repeatedly happeneing on one day in particular and it occurs on all three PC's (one of them have different anti-virus to the others so to me that rules out that which is what Fasthosts say).

The users have got so frustrated we are looking to change provider again. Normally this would be fair enough, but as we already previously changed provider to avoid this problem makes me think that actually perhaps they all have some problem with their Outlook.
Is there something that is happening or something they are doing which could be causing this to happen and making Outlook think that it has not yet downlaoded the emails.

Any ideas?
How does Outlook work with regard to knowing whcih emails have been downloaded? Can this file being getting corrupted at teh same time on all the PC's?

Any input is greatly apprecaited
