enter the network password prompt Outlook 2007

I keep receiving the prompt to enter the network password. It just started happening wit my Yahoo account.

I did some resaerch on EE site and found a suggestion to run regsvr32 inetcomm.dll. I tried it but got an error message that the module was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found.

I will. I think it started when I copied my pst file to another location. Maybe I can just copy it back?

You can copy it back, but now that it has started asking for your password I think you may need to go through the process outlined in the Microsoft Knowledgebase article.

Will I still have access to all my messages as I do now?

I guess I"m not sure what this change will do - will I still be able to use my old profile? If not, will my new profile have all my e-mails? I've created lots of folders and subfolders and I've organized my e-mail in them. Will that be gone in the new profile?

It's been a little while since I used Outlook, so I'll see if I can find someone to verify this, but since all of the information about your account (including the emails) is kept in the PST file, it will all still be there.

I'll appreciate feedback from someone who knows Outlook really well, because when I use my new profile, none of my folders are there.

Hi, Lucynka.

In Outlook when you create a new profile the software creates a new pst file for you.  To get your old items back you can either replace that pst file with your old one, or import the contents of your old pst into the new one.

I didn't do anything suggested here completely and the prompt went away. I did create a new profile, but have not used it because of the pst file. I didn't want to take any chances with copying it or importing it, becasue it's a busy time for me - didn't want to mess anything up.

Can't really allocate any points because the problem resolved itself. Please advise.

A few minutes after I posted my last comment, the prompt came back! It wasn't here for several days. It's a mystery. I wasn't doing anything special, except filing away my e-mail messages in the folders. I"m running with user access in Vista on, but I have been in the last few days as well.
