Outlook not remembering passwords...
I have a client using Microsoft Outlook 2003 to access two POP/SMTP e-mail accounts. His profile is set to remember passwords when logging into the accounts. About a week ago Outlook started prompting him to enter his password when sending/receiving e-mail. Thinking there was a problem with his password on the mail server, we changed it and updated his Outlook profile with new password. The same issue still exists. I deleted his Outlook profile and created a new profile, but the issue still exists - no matter how many time we check the boxes to remember his password, Outlook prompts him for his password each time a send/recieved action takes place. We have 18 other users with the same Outlook setup accessing the same e-mail server, but he is the only one having issues. Any ideas?

war1,
Greatly appeciate all of the assistance. I have tried all steps you suggested, still no joy. I now believe something a bit more sinister is at work behind the scenes as now his ACT program is having issues.

Thanks a million.
I had the same issue on a machine. I followed all actions stated here and then a lot more.. I have found no fix yet... It is nothing sinister though. I have seen the problem long ago as well...
You need to modify the registry when Outlook or Outlook Express Password Not Retained
