Don't know why this cleared it up but deleting the outcmd.dat file seemed to work.

In months and years past, users will send other users Public Folder calendar invitations to which the recipient will accept and send the response. Nothing bad has ever happened on the user or server side using this methodology.
Now, these same invitations are sometimes crashing the recipient's Outlook. One user says their Outlook crashes on accepting the invite and other says it crashes by merely opening the invite.
The affected user's Outlooks do not crash on every invite, just sometimes.
Different users are the originators of these appointments.
Not all users are affected. So far it is limited to a handful of users.
I read somewhere that the Adobe 8.0 plugin may be at fault so I uninstalled the Outlook PDFMaker plugin on the affected machines (sender and receiver). Same result.
I also started Outlook on the affected machines (sender and receiver) with these switches with the same result:
/CleanProfile
/CleanFreeBusy
I have not yet done a Detect and Repair. I'm not sure if a patch is the culprit. I use WSUS and there have not been any recent Outlook updates.
Any ideas?
