Question

How to get rid of duplicate emails in Outlook

Asked by: cjb123

To make a long story short, my company's email server crashed in February.. and because of how everything came back up, i have duplicate emails - so my OST is about 2.2GB - needless to say performance is REALLY bad..

Is there a way to automatically go out and find or find/delete duplicate email in Outlook 2007?

I know you could build a SQL query into a filter, but I wouldn't know what kind of code to put there..

THe problem is that for some reason your outlook doesn't know that you've downloaded these emails once already and it keeps on dowloading them again and again. The ease way out of this is to
1-go to tools/account settings/email,
2-then double click on the account that your getting the duplicates
3-click on more settings
4-click on the advanced tab
5-remove the "leave a copy on server" selection

There are a lot of pro's and cons for leaving the email on the server but if you don't need to download your email to a few locations and you don't need them saved on your server I would always leave this "leave a copy on server" selection unchecked.

Hey cjb123, I can not find any freeware remover anymore. Only trials with the same limitation of 10/15 emails. Why not purchase the software (it's only $15,00) ??
