The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Messages appear to lose text when editing a message and printing

Asked by KOCHIT in Outlook Groupware Software, Exchange Email Server

Tags: , ,

I have a user on an Exchange 2003 exchange server in Australia. The user opens a message then selects Edit > Edit Message. She then deletes some of the text and prints it. This function all works fine. She then closes the message and selects to not save the changes. When she opens the same message again the text that she deleted remains deleted. This only occurs if she prints the message once she'd edited it. (She is basically printing off an e-mail string. Once she thinks the string has finished she prints it out. If someone else responds, she edits the message and deletes the text she has already printed to save paper) If she closes Outlook and opens it back up, the entire message reappears. I can only reproduce this one one other machine. (I've tried 3 total, 1 was running Outlook 2007. One other machine works just fine and one experiences the same problem) She as well as the other affected machine is running Office 2003. Her patching as well as the test computer is patched as much as Microsoft's downloads site will allow. You are able to select 'Forward' and it works just fine since forwarding actually creates a new message. If she is viewing the reviewing pane it works just fine as well. I've uninstalled Office on the test machine to no avail. The operating system is XP Professional as is Office (professional). Does anyone have any ideas?Start Free Trial
