The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Cannot print word document properly from Intranet

Asked by axygen in Outlook Groupware Software, Internet Explorer Web Browser, Firefox Web Browser

Hello Experts,

I have a weird problem that is happening with one user's computer when printing a word document from our Intranet site.  Basically the user would go to our Intranet site, open the appropriate document that they need and print it.  When they open the document it will open with whatever internet browser they are using.  I have tried using Opera 9.27, Firefox 3 and IE 7 to open the document on my computer and it opens fine as one page.  From the users computer I tried using Firefox 2.0.0.14 and IE 7 but the document still opens as 2 pages.  I thought it might have to do with some settings in the internet browser on how word documents are opened but this didn't help.  The document is Word 2003 based and is only one page but for some reason it prints out 2 pages from this users computer.  The user also has Word 2003 as their word processing software and running XP Pro SP2 with all updates (Office/XP).  I haven't been able to figure this out so I'm hoping that you guys would have some good suggestions so I can get this user off my back.Start Free Trial
