I got a call from a client with a problem with Outlook, I recognized it as a PST file with a stuck Read Receipt in the Outbox. I downloaded MDBVU32 and ran it.
1. Clicked OK at the first screen
2. MDB Menu -> OpenMessageStore
3. Click OK to select the Personal Folders
4. MDB Menu to Open Root Folder
5. Saw the stuck receipt
6. Highlighted it then selected "IpFld->DeleteMessages() (ON SELECTED MESSAGES)" (or so I thought)
7. Clicked Call Function button
8. Exited software...
What I really did in step 6 was clicked IpFld->DeleteFolder() (ON SELECTED FLD)
Now my PST, which is 500 meg or so, cannot be accessed properly. From what I can tell, I deleted Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc, all the normal Outlook folders.
I don't know enough about the PST behind the scenes stuff to rebuild this.
Help? :)
Tried system restore, no help there, but I didn't expect it to.
