Hello, every time my client tries to send an email with an attachment, outlook freezes and does not send the email out. It also generally degrades her system performance drastically. Environment is SBS 2003, 3 servers (1 file, 1 print, and sbs). 35-40 computers, only one Toshiba laptop having the issue.
Outlook also brings up a message that says "outlook is having problems connecting to the exchange server". Problem occurs in exchange cached mode and in non-cached mode.
There are no errors in event viewer (Laptop or Server), and all the network connections are fine. I thought it might be ani-virus (norton 9.0 corporate edition), so i removed it to test but it did not work.
Its not the size of the attachments as far as i can tell, because even when she tries to attach a small word document, the same degradation occurs.
I was also on her computer, through a remote connection, while she was attempting to send an email with an attachment, I got booted off (LogmeinRescue).
here's what i have tried so far:
1. I removed the profile
2. Removed outlook /reinstalled
3. Removed all the outlook files (ost files...etc)
4. Office is current in updates
5. Ran checkdisk no errors
6. Ran outlook.exe /cleanprofile command
Thinking about recreating her domain profile...though not sure if it would help since i am not getting any userenv errors. Will also run winsockfix later...but that is a long shot.
Currently user is using OWA, and it works fine. However, i need to fix this eventually. Computer works absolutely fine when outlook is closed. Worked on this for 6-7 hours with no resolution. Let me know if you need more info.
