How to save an Outlook email with attachments to hard drive

Is there a way to save (copy or drag) an Outlook email with attachments to a hard drive then be able to open that file on the hard dirve later and retrieve the attachmets? It seems that you can copy or drag the message but when opening the attachment in the saved message, Outlook give the message:
"The operation failed: An object could not be found". Seems the attachment is in the message but it can't be saved out or opened.
