Item Not Found error opening recurring meetings in OWA

We have a user who gets an error "The Item Could Not be Found. It May Have Been Deleted" whenever he tries to open a recurring meeting series while using OWA. This happens with all recurring meetings.
The meetings (series) all open fine when using Outlook.
We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 on Windows 2003 SP1 in a front-end / back-end configuration.
