Set appAccess = GetObject(, "Access.Application") fails with "error in loading DLL"

From Outlook 2003 I've been using this VBA code to run an Access 2003 procedure. "DisplayMatter" is a public sub.

A week ago I had a RAM failure which made my development machine reboot about 20 times before I pinned down the problem. Now my development machine has been working without errors for 5 days. But this code -- that always used to work -- won't work now.

I had Office 2007 (including Access 2007) installed on the machine, I removed it. Then I removed Office 2003, reinstalled Office 2003 (haven't installed Office 2007 again, though). Still have the error.

Also, the set appWord code below used to work, but doesn't now.
