outlook 2007 corrupted pst

Hi there,

I've gone to open Outlook 2007 this morning but when I click on my main pst in the folder tree I get the following message:

"The file outlook.pst cannot be opened"

I tried running scanpst for outlook 2007 but it failed with the following message:

"an error has occurred which caused the scan to be stopped. No changes have been made to the scanned file."

I've run the trial version of officerecovery 2.1 and that appeared to successfully recover the file (as best I could tell from the trial version).

Are there any other options - either measures I could take or free / cheap software to avoid having to take the $249 plunge?
