All Users Have Slow Performance in Outlook 2003 Cached Exchange Mode

Hi,

All of our users are having issues running in cached exchange mode, they are reporting 5-25 minutes to open Outlook. They are downloading 1 day of messages which is probably around 300 messages.  I need to keep offline functionality although I am sure direction connection which offer much better performance.

I have tried in safe mode without much improvement.

If anyone could help it would be much appeciated as the complaints are painful!!
