outlook 2003 profile - mailbox appears twice
I'm running Outlook 2003 SP3 on my laptop NAMCL12026 with Windows XP SP2. I have the Blackberry Redirector software installed, as well as Office Communicator 2005. I login with domain\cstone, and as far as I know, nothing has changed with my AD account. Over the last seven to ten days, I've had problems with my Outlook profile that has forced me to have to dump my profile and start all over again.
The symptoms are as follows:
* I get cryptic error messages when I try to close reminders: "There was a problem reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear. Could not open the item. Try again."
* I get two Mailbox - Stone, Chad entries in my folder list in Outlook. Both have the same contents.
* I get two Calenders under My Calendars: "Calendar" and "Calendar in Mailbox - Stone, Chad"
* Sometimes when I create a new appointment, two appointments appear and I can't edit one of them. If I close my calendar and go back in, one meeting disappears.
To resolve the issue short term, here's what I do to "dump" my Outlook profile:
* Close Outlook
* Control Panel > Mail
* Show Profiles > Remove "Outlook" > Apply
* Sign out of Office Communicator
* Browse to "C:\Documents and Settings\cStone\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook" and move all files into a backup folder
* Control Panel > Mail
* Add... Profile Name: Outlook
* Add a new e-mail account, Microsoft Exchange Server, NAMseATWN003, use cached exchange mode (checked), cstone, finish
* Click OK
* Launch Outlook
* Outlook creates a new profile for me and everything is OK for a little while. It creates a new OST and downloads my items and everything appears great until a few hours later, when I get the symptoms I mentioned above.
