Browse All TopicsI have a Windows XP system that has Office 2007 including Outlook which is what this is about. The problem started with Outlook unable to connect to the Exchange server after it had been working fine for a year. Outlook would give the following error when it would attempt to connect to the Exchange server:
Error (0x80040115): The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.
Since then I have repaired Outlook and after that it worked for about a week but it then started the same thing again. Since that I have attempted removing Outlook 2007 along with the settings files in both the Application Data and Local Settings folders. I also removed Outlook entries from the registry and then reinstalled. Now when you start Outlook with that user it will configure the account for the user and search for the account server settings, it logs on to the server and then I click finish on the add new e-mail account screen but it then gives the error that says "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. you must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folder file."
Any ideas?
I should also note that the issue is only with one person. If another account logs onto the system it can connect to the server with no problems. Also, this account can connect from other machines. So to me it seems like I am not deleting all the profile settings from the registry or somewhere on the hard drive.
