The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Import outlook express email from oe6 to outllok 2007 on a diffe vista machine

I am trying to get my email from outlook express on one xp machine to outlook 2007 on another vista based machine. I have looked at the solutions already on EE and it looks like I have to go via VISTA based windows mail. I have copied the dbx files onto the vista machine into a c:\temp\mail folder, but none of the solutions state how to import exactly into windows mail before making the leap to outlook 2007,
1. When I try import > messages I am only given an option to "import mail from an OE6 store directory - if I try to browse to the existing folder or C:\temp\mail I get a message "No messages can be found in the folder or another application is running that has the required files open. Please select another folder or try closing application that ..."
2. I cannot change the stored folder under "Tools > Options > Advanced > maintenance > Store Folder" to point to the c:\temp\mail folder ... I get a message that says "The directory you selected is Not Empty. Please select an empty directory for your new store location"
3. If I create a new empty folder for the store and select it, I can change the stored folder, but when I copy the dbx files in there, they do not get imported.
