WinXP machine hangs on applying computer settings when logging on to SBS2003 domain

We reverently installed a new very capable Small business Server 2003.  We have set it up for use with about 10 workstations half of which are new identical custom built new machines.  We have been round and added them all to the Domain using the connect computer wizard.

Problem is that after a few weeks just one of the new machines started to hang when booting up on applying computer settings before you get to the Windows login.  It will work almost instant if you wait for the windows login screen before plugging the LAN lead in, then you can quickly log on to the domain as any user but soon as you reboot it hangs again on applying computer settings again.

So far I have tested the network which was fine, tried to give the machine a static IP and mapped the DNS both to the servers IP and the IP of the gateway (router / Watchguard) with no luck.

Once the machine is in windows on the Domain (by taking the LAN lead out until the windows login) it works perfect and can browse the network, collect email from Exchange and browse the Internet.

Thanks, James
