Searching Exchange 2003 Public Folders under Outlook 2007

Asked by Robmonster in Outlook Groupware Software, Search Engines, Windows Vista

Hi there,

How can I run an email search down ALL public folders at once?

Under Outlook 2003 I was able to use the most excellent LookOut program, which would index all public folders and allow me to run a keyword search across all email. It allowed me to pull up emails containing information that I knew had been sent, but didn't know which Public Folder they were stored in.

My organisation has /lots/ of Public Folders so it is not practical to set them to be a Favourite and so download them locally to my PC.

So far I have tried the following:-

Outlook 2007's inbuilt search, with Windows Search 4 integration under Vista.

This allows me to search an individual public folder. When I ask it to search /ALL/ folders, it only seems to search those in my local account,i.e. my own Sent Items/Inbox and so on.

Copernic Desktop Search 2

This will index email in any attached mailboxes, but not Public Folders

Xobni

Again, this only seems to index mail in attached mailboxes. No search results are returned from Public Folders.

I'm finding the lack of email search to be a little crippling and would love to hear of a good solution to this.
