The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Preview pane hangs on only one email unless double clicked

Asked by ginovino in Outlook Groupware Software, Email Software

Tags: Microsoft, Outlook, 2002, Win XP-HOME

I am using WinXP-Home. I have Office 2002 installed and it has served me fine over the years.
My ISP is Verizon.net via a POP3 account
I have Panda AV installed, but have it set to scan only incoming emails.

I have followed the instructions from the many Outlook questions answered here, to deactivate all of the Outlook "Add-ins". I ran the "detect and repair:, but not an re-install so far.

I have Outlook set to open in the following fashion: 1) Outlook TODAY- Personal folders and all of my folders in alpha order underneath, 2) Inbox open at the top of the screen, 3) Preview pane open at the bottom allowing me to quickly review the contents of each email whether it be HTML, text , images or links.

Wat is occurring now, is the preview pane is hanging up on the same image (email) unless I double click on another message and open it full screen. This never happened before. So I'm guessing it must be a setting I screwed up somehow. I need to get back to the way it was as I get tons of emails and don't have the time to open each one to see if they are of any value to me.

I read among the postings about resetting the outlook bar back to default, but before I go any further, I desire expert advice to proceed. THANKS
