When I click Send, my email goes into my Outbox and stays there. Thus I can't "send" any emails.
Background:
I just did an Repair (ScanPST). It did NOT fix this problem.
I use Comcast. I CAN go to the Comcast Web Mail and successfully send emails.
I can receive emails.
I use Outlook 2007 on WIndows XP Pro.

First I see receiving messages. Qucik. One email came in.
Then I see Sending message 3 of 7
Then Sending message 3 of 5 for a long time, then this: (Note the 0x80042109)
Task 'mail.comcast.net - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I've responded, but first:
WAIT! That fixed it!
When I was with the Comcast tech last night, I did that (changed the port from 25 to 587) but it didn't correct the problem, but I now realize my mistake:
I have 4 accounts in my Outlook. I changed it in only 1 of the 4.
Just now, I changed it in all 4, and Voila! I love you.
OK. Before I take this love too far, let me make sure it really works - do a little testing - but I can say this ... You have definitely inspired me! df

This is not new. I've been using it for at least a year. Came on suddenly about 3 days ago. There have been blips - like asking me for my password, which is already saved, but it worked.

I discussed Port 25 with a Comcast tech and he had me change it to 587. I changed it and it still failed so I changed it back. I'll change it back to 587 again now.

Create a test message to yourself.
On the bottom right shouwl give you the send receive status information as soon as you hit Send/ Receive without Outlook.
What indication is it giving?
