How do I insert, edit, delete a table in Outlook 2007

How can I create, edit, delete tables in Microsoft Outlook?  I see the tables button on my message, but it's greyed-out.  I cannot click on it.  How can I get it enabled?  I just got upgraded to Outlook 2007 and so far I'm having trouble doing the most basic tasks.

Two questions.

1.  What format are you using for your messages, HTML, RTF, or plain-text?
2.  Was the insertion point in the body of the message when you tried to insert a table?

I have tried using HTML, RTF, and plain text.  No matter what the format is, I see the Insert > Tables button, but I cannot click it.  And, yes, the insertion point was in the body of the email.  The help file says I'm supposed to be able to click on the button, but I cannot.

Tables are only available if the message's format is HTML or RTF.  I've not seen this problem before and have only seen one other post about it.  There was no solution to that post.  I'd start by running Office Diagnostics.

I have the same problem...see screenshots showing HTML format, insertion point, disabled 'insert table' button.

I later figured out what it was.  The tool tip actually told me.  We upgraded Outlook only to 2007 and we are still using an older version of Office for everything else...
