Thanks for the advice.
Option 1: no effect because this refers to downloaded images and mine are embedded
Option 2: I checked the registry and ran the Outlook Temp Cleaner program which confirmed the Temporary File folder name (7H6NRSGM rather than your X30MWG3N) but when I opened it said it was empty - I emptied it again anyway, but this has made no difference.
