Question

Outlook sync error=0x80010105

Asked by: ajdratch

I have a user with Outlook 2007 and exchange 2007. She can't search her Outlook anymore. In the app log is the following error - source "Outlook" Event ID = 36
Outlook Search has encountered an error and is temporarily disabling indexing for store C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost (error=0x80010105).

These are showing up every 1 - 3 minutes

I deleted the OST file and recreated it and that seemed to have fixed it however the next day the problem came back

So you dont have problem in online mode right ?

Try running the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe file and see if that fixes it. I believe the file is located somewhere in the Microsoft Office folder under Program Files, but you can do a search for it if need be.

Hello,

What Office 2007 service pack level are you at? If you don't have it installed, try installing SP2. The error you describe was resolved in SP1.

I believe it will work when not caching but I have not tried that.

I don't run the ost and pst fix since it happened on a new ost file.

The computer does have Office SP2 installed
