Look down in the bottom right hand corner of your Outlook window and see if it says "Working Offline" or "Offline" if it does, click on it and uncheck "Work Offline".

Outlook does not send and receive automatically
I have outlook to automatically send and receive email. However, they don't always come in unless I press send and receive. this is for Outlook 2003.

Are you using windows xp with sp2. If so check the firewall settings there was an issue with the firewall blocking UDP packets. If you turn off the firewall does email come in normally?
