Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have a user who's mailbox on exchange does not seem to close properly. The attached images are what pop up every time outlook 2007 on XP Pro SP3 gets started.
Here are the things I have done.
1. Ran the office Diagnostics
2. Started outlook in safe mode and the notifications still appear
3. I uninstalled some 3rd party addins
4. I created a new outlook profile and loaded his mailbox into that and still recieved the notifications
5. There is nothing in the event log of the computer
6. I dont notice anything in the event logs of the mailserver.
The only recent change I can think of is that I added his new blackberry to the BES server. That was last week.
This problem seems to be slowing his outlook considerably

Hi, Raynovac.
Something (a program, add-in, etc.) is keeping Outlook open. You can verify that by checking the list of active processes using Task Manager. If you find Outlook in the list after the user has exited the program, then that's your proof. The next step is to identify what's keeping it open. Start closing processes until you see Outlook exit. The last process exited will be the one that was keeping it open. My guess is it'll be the Blackberry software.
