Outlook 2007, Advanced Find, search subfolders, default is unchecked. How to change default?

In Microsoft Outlook 2007, the "search subfolders" checkbox in Advanced Find is not checked by default.

How can it set it to be checked by default?

are you using the instant search pane : http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/ha012305851033.aspx

If so then you can go to tools - options - preferances - search options - and then check all folders - this will search the whole folder set.

however if using advaced search check this ee post: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Groupware/Outlook/Q_24413552.html

sorry that last link doesn't address the default behaviour of the search - that user had a different issue.

To all my knowledge in searching MS left the function out : http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_23666704.html

The best you can do is enable instant search and use it's search options. instant search in my opinion works ok because I have a fast computer and keep my outlook box clean a whistle ..however if you have a slower machine and a huge inbox instant search could slow you down a bit.

Why can't Microsoft create a new version of anything without breaking useful functionality?  It now takes me a three key set and setting a check box to be able to do what I did in 2003 with a right click.  I do searches like this all the time.
