The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Outlook to Excel macro

I have a manual operation that works as follows:

I open up a specific Excel spreadsheet and put my cursor on the first free row - row that has no data yet on it

I open up Outlook and highlight a message in 'Message View'

I copy/paste to the free row in Excel where I have placed my cursor.

At this point, all the header fields come over into separate columns e.g. date sent, date received, etc. but not the body field. As well an extra row gets added by the paste operation which I don't need.

I then manually have to:

Open the message that was highlighted and copy the body of the message into a column in the spreadsheet.

Finally I have to delete the unnecessary row.

I would like to have a hotkey/icon  that would do the following:

I highlight the message in Outlook that I want to import into the specific Excel spreadsheet that catalogues the e-mails.

I press the hot-key combination or run some kind of program/icon and then the following occurs:

The header fields are copied into the first free row of the spreadsheet.

The body of the message is copied into the 'body' column of that row.

The extra row is deleted

Note: I want the process to be indifferent to screen position so macro recording that is dependent on screen position are not suitable.
