Unfortunately to the best of my knowledge it is not possible to only share certain portions of the calendar. It's basically an all or nothing deal.

If you want to share your calendar for the month of October onwards, until decided by you.
Simply add them as a Delegate with appropriate permissions.
Under Tools>Options>Delegates.
When the time has come, that you no longer want them to have access to your calendar, remove their access.
However, this will not stop them from looking at past appointments or events.
In reality though, shouldnt really be anything in you work calendar that you dont want others to see.
If there is, they should be marked as private.
Otherwise, as gatekeeper said: You cannot share certain months within outlook.
Or as jppinto said: You can create a second calendar and juggle both of them.
Or a 3rd Option:
You can have a New Mailbox setup for you, giving you Full Access, so that you can copy over ONLY the appointments in your calendar to its calendar that you want to share.
Then allow the others access to this 3rd calendar.
However, you may need an Admin or Exchange Admin to assist you with this if you are not one yourself.

You could create a second Calendar to share. Right click on the Calendar in the Folder list and select New Folder. This will create a second calendar in which you can adjust permissions. You can display them side by side with your normal calendar and keep things separate.
