What alternatives are there in Outlook or Office 2007 that might afford the functionality I described in a Network environment?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am using the tasks function withing Outlook 2007 to assign tasks to individuals within my work group. Once I assign the task I want to be able to maintain the task in my folder until I agree the task is complete. Currently an individual can send me a "Task Complete" notification. When I open it to see what the action was to complete the task, OR view an attachment, the task is automatically accepted as complete. How can I require and acknowledgement/agreement from me that the task is in fact complete before it is marked that way and removed from the active tasks section?

Hi, darewc.
Unfortunately this is not possible. Outlook tasks are very simple things. When you assign a task to someone else you are turn the task over to them. The copy that is left on your computer is purely for reporting purposes. The person the task is assigned to has complete control. You have no means of controlling the task.
