To answer your first question, there is not a way to get Outlook to predict internal addresses only. The feature is either on or off and if it's on it applie to all addresses that are typed in.

Browse All TopicsHi,
We recently upgraded to Outlook 2007 and when composing e-mails, Outlook is attempting to be helpful and predict the e-mail addresses.
Its a good feature but where I work we have internal email addressing as well as external addressing.
When we send e-mails externally they are automatically bcc'd to our line managers for information security reasons.
Unfortunately the predictive addresses all use the external e-mail address rather than the internal e-mail address, so when staff choose the predictive address, it generate more traffic.
Is there a way to get outlook to only predict internal addresses only?
I'm also interested to know if you can switch off this predictive feature.
Many Thanks.

Do you know if you can control which addresses it predicts?
If I click on the TO, CC or BCC and choose the person from the list then it doesn't use the external address, but if you choose the predicted name then it utilises the external address.
I wondered is there was a registry setting that might be able to control this , if there's no simple way.
If the B grade was because: "It may be that you can get it to just use one email address instead of two. But noone answered in regards to this" Then just because it can't be done doesn't detract from the answers given.
i.e. the grades should be about the quality of the service not whether what you ask is possible and if appropriate then please recall this when grading answers.
