Within Outlook, I would like to turn a message into a task with a keyboard shortcut... so I don't have to use my mouse to drag and drop it to the task icon to generate a task.

Specifically, I'd like to type the shortcut and have it open as a task and leave the original message in the inbox (essentially the same as if I were to drag and drop--both of these things would happen).  Ideally, the task's subject would be the email's subject line and the note would be the email's body (again this is what would happen if I were to drag and drop).

I don't know how to write code but have similarly found a couple of other useful macros and was told how to add them as command buttons which can be run with a keyboard shortcut (right now, I type Alt+1 and the email is automatically filed to an email file, I type Alt+2 and it is deleted, and I'd like Alt+3 to turn the email into a task as described above).

Thanks so much,
Tim

Brum07,
Thanks so much.  I ended up using a simpler code that the author of the post you linked to used as a starting point.  Just so you, know.  I'm going to be adding a follow-up question.
Hi timmer79

I have found the following articles, don't know if they will help but this is all Outlook has to offer:

http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/80-keyboard-shortcuts-for-microsoft-outlook/
http://www.add-in-express.com/add-in-vsto/task-pane.php
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP030842231033.aspx

Hope this helps!! Let me know.
