Error 0x800CCC0F

I am suddenly not able to receive emails in Outlook; using POP3. I receive the following error report:

Task 'mike_oram@lineone.net (1) - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your
server administrator or Internet service provider 0SP).'

Thanks wilneumann; I happen not to use Norton (finding EMSI much better) but the concept you offer is, I believe, nevertheless sound. I had thought I had in fact accepted zeshanaziz's solution but my acceptance did not register it seems. I shall re-do that...

My problem has been resolved by disengaging my mailbox, which was open on another PC.
