Outlook has a strike line through the subject line on Email
We are using Microsoft Exchange for our email server. and users are using Microsoft Outlook 2007 for email management. Recently one of our users emails in other users inbox's are showing a strike line through the subject line.
We will call the user John Doe which has strike lines through his emials.
Accounts which have received messages from John Doe have these emails saved under various folders in there inboxes. Recently these messages, not all but some, show a strike line through the subject line of the message.
How did this happen? What is the meaning to the strike line? And what will be the result of the messages will it remain saved?
The accounts which have these messages want these emails saved. They are unaware of any actions taken that would have resulted in the strike line. Could actions taken by John Doe have results in displaying this strike line through the emails?
Please advise on all of the questions posed here.
thanks

Please note that the users who are experiencing the strike line in there inbox have not made any changes in options or selected any features in Outlook to have these messages show a strike line. Instead it appears that the original sender has done something that would change the messages to show this strike line.
How could the original sender make a change that would affect other users inbox messages that they received from this sender? Also what does a strike line mean? Will these messages be deleted?
My biggest concern is that after a certain period of time these messages will simply be deleted from all of the users accounts, because the original sender has selected an option on his account to delete message sent.
Please further explain the questions posed above.
