task ' ' - sending' reported error (0x80042109) :'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing SMTP email server. if you continue to recieve this message, contact your server admin or ISP
Clients email just stopped working today. Was able to send through one account, but not the default. Then after I switched some settings then switched back to exact the way it was, no email sends. This is the error:

I have over 10 yrs experience professionally with outlook
I have tried (in no particular order)
- uninstalling Norton security
- malwarebytes full scan
- ipconfig /flushdns
- disable all addins on safe mode
- try outlook in safe mode
- try a 3rd account, a gmail account
- try a 4th account, mine, a google account
- turn off all firewalls
- port 587 tls, or 465 ssl
etc etc...
don't know what else to try. perhaps its a ISP centurylink issue??????????

You might have a problem with the ISP or similar (wrong settings?). Did you consider trying another client from same PC such as Windows Live Mail or trying same client (Outlook) from another PC?

Took the laptop to another ISP location. Same problem.
Isntalled the email account onto tech PC, worked... its definately a PC problem
Did try Thunderbird. Did not work. So its more of a networking / smtp out port issue on the PC somehow.

Which Antivirus (from now on simply, AV) are you using? Could you disable the AV (since most AVs scan outgoing mail) and send an email?
ASKER
Uninstalled AV (it was norton internet security 2012)
then used the norton removal tool to remove any traces... still no luck
