R6 database on R5 server. Why does it work?
I designed a database in R6 but it should work on R5 server.
I simply made a copy from the R6 db to the R5 server and I was very surprised that I could access it.
What's more, when I take a look at the file in the Administrator I can see following:
in Local: File Format -- R6 (43:0) filename.nsf
On server: File Format -- R5 (41:0) filename.nsf
Earlier I thought that I should make a new copy and rename the .nsf to .ns5 or
I should downgrade it to R5 on the R6 server.
Afterwords I did the same with my mailbox just to see that it was no accident but it works.
My question: can I leave it or will I encounter troubles in the future?

The R5 databases have backwards compatibility. However, as stated previously, you will have limited functionality unttil you upgrade the design of the database to R6. I would recommend that you do that at some point. That way, you will get all the benefit of the new features built into R6.
