Send recieve text format setting in Lotus Notes server

We are using Outlook as POP 3 for our email on a Lynx based server house off site. We have had an ongoing issue with one of our customers who is using lotus notes that when they receive and email from us and reply we only get the original email and not their reply.  The server shows the response and blackberry users can also see the response but not outlook. I have researched and found that if we send to them in plain text and they reply in plain text the issue does not exist.

Our Asia offices are on Notes also and we have the same issue, recently the main office has switched to Outlook and this issue is gone but the ones still on notes the issue is there. This only is mentioned to confirm the solution they are changing over to Outlook as we implement SharePoint.

Question: I do not know Notes server and my question is, is it possible to set specific default requirements for a specific domain (@domain.net) that would allow the Notes Server to default it so any email that was sent by notes to anyone@domain.net, to default to plain text format and also auto convert any email received from anyone@domain.net to plain text format before it is delivered to the notes user. If this is possible and I have the steps for them I can talk to our customers IT and ask if it would be possible for them to set it as such.  If anyone knows of another fix other than the plain text which seems to be the only one out there let me know also. Nicer to adapt to the customer rather than have them adapt to us.

thanks for the reply if there are many pages on interent please point me in the right direction I seem to be only to find pages pointing to that it falls on Notes.  When I had my Asia ofices that were on Notes switch to plain text the issue went away. So if this is something I can fix in Outlook that would be great. Thansk for your help.

Thanks I checked them out some point to a virus program issue but I have 40 other users using the same program and we only see with email that are replied back from notes users. That was the first thing I did way back disable and watched for a while. Sorry should ahve mentioned that.

The other had it reversed they see our messages fine that is never an issue it is thier reply that looses thier reply and only keeps the orginal message.

As I mentioned we already are inforcing sending in plain text to this particular customer who is using Notes and it fixes the issue as long as we remember to send in plain text. I have shown them how to set a contact so it always sends in plain text.

I wish this company would let me go to exchange or another server ( more control for me) but not in these times they stick with the old ways and do not like to spend money.

Anyway I guess we jhave to stick with the plian text unless someone can show me a way for Notes server to configure a certian domain to only be sent plain text.

Thanks for the help.

Althought the experts had some suggestions the plain text option had previously been implemented and was working. I was looking more for settings I could suggest to customer for his Notes server defaulting our domain to palin text send/recieve.
