Importing data into Address Book...
I have email addresses, names and company info that I downloaded from a different system that I need to import into the address book. I have tried to import the data from 1-2-3 and Excel and nothing shows up in the view.
The data can be downloaded in many different file formats (.csv, .dif, .xls) but I can't seem to get the data to be displayed in the view.
The way I have been doing it is by going through file, import, and selecting Contact as the form and allowing it to import.
Thanks in advanced.
I am not a programmer so some of the info in other questions flies over my head. The simplier the better.

the column order in the view must be the same as in the spreadsheet...
There is no readymade solution for importing the data, unless it fulfills the notes data structure (Lite tabular or structured format).
Tell me how your data looks like in csv dump. The format would be fine (not all of the data).

Are you trying to import a specific work-sheet from a multiple-sheet worksheet file? If you are, Notes imports only the sheet that was open when the file was last closed, or, if importing a specified range, imports the range from that sheet.

The file that I will be importing will be on a single worksheet in Excel.
The .csv file that I download is imported into Excel. The .csv format looks something like this before I open it in Excel, this is the view from wordpad.
4,"BA",00000,"XYZ Company",
Not sure if this helps at all.
The other issue that I have with the importing is if I import the same file that I exported out of the Address book, not all of the people show up in the view. If I go into the empty row and click 'Close & Save' it will then display them.
