can a deleted Notes database be recovered?

That is the problem,
we do do a backup, but for some reason ARCServe does not appear to have backed up any .nsf files. We have 2 networks both being backed up by seperate backup servers, both have the same Arcserve version and both are configured the same, but the other backed up the .nsf files whereas the one with the mail boxes on didn't. Unless, of course, Arcserve did back them up but is just not displaying .nsf files for some reason.
Any ideas?

Arcserve is a bit picky (or worse :-) ) : if you add files to the filesystem, you have to add them manually to the 'backup' list in Arcserve, if my memory serves me right.
Search the backups, but I fear you won't have any .nsf files :-( . If you want to try to recover the deleted file from the filesystem, you have to act quickly, btw.
I haven't used any of these tools yet (my backups have been ok up to now :-) ). You are on Win 2000 ? There should be a lot of tools available , eg. :

No. You must restore it from backup (you do have backups, don't you ?)
You can try finding one of the "file recovery tools", that are available on the internet and will recover deleted files from the harddisk ...
