Out of Office not working in Notes 6.5.2

Hello,

I am running a domino server 6.5.2 on win2003stan..

I am trying to enable an OoO agent to run on a user's mail file.

I have been experimenting with my own mail file to first get it working, but I cannot seem too..

I have enabled the OoO agent in my client and set it up for me to be away today and tomorrow, then I enable it.
However, when I send myself an e-mail (from gmail) I do not get an OoO reply, tho I do receive the e-mail.
The user in question has also tried to set the OoO agent once before and it has not worked.  I don't think it has ever worked..

I have checked the Domino Admin and I can see the agent running on my database (It is only set to run once a day?)
I tried increasing the number of concurrent agents to 2 with no effect..
and I should say that my Domino server is an upgrade (from R5)

Please help solve the problem!!
If you need more info, please ask..

ASKER

I've been reading some of the other posts from users with similar problems..

How do I check the ACL on my database to make sure I am authorized to run this agent?

Just a thought, you do have an administration server set up for the domain don't you?
I should have added in my previous post that Adminp runs on the administration server
Just logged on now, thanks for the replys..

It is set to reply to Internet addresses, I did not tick this..

I did not know it will respond only to unread e-mails..

The users all should have editor rights on their mailfiles (I have not checked them all) and I see the OoO agent running when I check the agents section in the admin module..

The Lotus Script execution rights I will check this, can I ask for clarification what NAB means.  Is that a section in the server document?

I am going to try setting myself away again, sending an e-mail and not opening and running 'Tell Adminp process new'  from the console.  From what I understand this should run the OoO agent right away?  we will see if this works..I'll get back to you soon..

Thanks everyone!

Dru
oh and yes I have an admin server...
OK here's what I've done

In the Server document, under the security tab, I added a group 'system users' to the following categories..1)Run restricted LotusScript/Java agents 2)Run Simple and Formula agents 3) Run unrestricted methods and operations.  Previously system users (ie everybody) did not have any access here.  Is there something I am missing?

At this point I am experimenting with my own mail file, which I have manager access to, and the Lotus Script access checkbox in the access properites of my mail file is checked (as is everything else).

I've set myself as away from yesterday to tomorrow, sent myself an e-mail from gmail (not opened it) and run the 'Tell adminp process new' command from the console twice, but I still have not received the OoO reply (I even checked the spam folder..).

There is no filtering on my outgoing mail, only on incoming (and that is working)  If I send mail from notes to gmail, I will receive it.

At this point I have to physically go into the office (boo!) so I will be about an hour before I can reply again..

I've tried again here at work, sending an e-mail from our internal system (notes user to notes user) and ran the Tell adminp...command...and still no OoO reply.

Is there some kind of trace of something I can do?
I'm going to check my log.nsf now and I will post if I find anything relavent..

Thanks again,

Dru

If you did changes to server document, it is always recommended to restart your server.

And coming to the OOO agent, you can set the OoO agent to some dates and then run the agent manually. Also keep in mind, OoO agent runs only once per day @ 1AM. IT doesn't matter even if u read the docs.

Once u restarted the server, then open the OoO agent in designer and change the setting to run more than once and keep the interval as for every 10mins. Now send an test email to your email account and then run this agent manually.

If there is any error, it may prompt with that error. Else, keep looking into log.nsf for any specific errors.

Note: By looking at your response, I can say, there was none who has access to run Lotus Script.
OK busy today on a different issue..lol

I will keep trying and post results and or questions..

Dru
If you issue the command "tell amgr sched" on the server console,  do you see that OOO agent enabled?

Are you trying to enable it from a local replica of your mail fiel or the serrver replica of the mail file?  IF you are trying from a local replica,  try enabling it on teh server copy and see if it runs then.  There was a bug where enabling it from a local replica would not work prior to 6.5.5
