Can someone help me with setting up Lotus Notes 7.0.2 client on a single computer with multiple users?
The computer has a single login and is shared by 10 users. The main problem is that when the user tries to switch users, the switch user dialog box only shows a few other users (I think around five) and an option "Others", which if the client selects it takes them to a directory listing that is really confusing to the client. (They don't know to look for their name with a .id extension.)
Configuring Lotus Notes use to be so easy until we upgraded to Version 7. We tried to look up a solution at IBM, with no solid way found to setup multi-users.

I agree with umeli, setup different locations and specify which ID to switch to in the advanced tab.
Just remember in this situation though all 10 users will be sharing the same bookmark db, desktop, and names.nsf personal address book.
Maybe you can also look at setting up web mail access for these users if possible? There are other options such as creating separate icons for all the users and pointing to different INIs but that can get confusing

The clients do have their own email address and I believe they also have their own address book (names.nsf).
Again, we use to setup the clients with their own locations where they only had to select from the bottom of the screen. It seems the big change (complaint) is when someone starts the client software to login to Notes. Before (told to me since I don't use multi users on my machine) the client would start the client and select the down button and select their name from the list. Now the list only has a few names and an option of "Other", which confuses the clients because the program then opens a dialog box inside the Notes Data folder for the client to select their name. For me it would be simple to select my id file, BUT it is seems to confusing to the clients, and of course change is bad, so we are trying to find a way to make the new client act like the previous versions.

The best would be to have 10 different Windows Accounts on the client.
If that can't be done, use at least the "Location Documents" to switch between Users.
Create a Location Document for every user. In the Advanced Tab, you could choose an ID, which should be used for the location.
